I was born in south Liverpool and always had a fascination with the film camera. At age 18, I purchased a second hand Agfa Silette camera and began taking pictures in the Merseyside area. These progressed from ships to places in the city centre. After many years I started to realise things were changing rapidly and I had actually recorded them before they disappeared.
Then, after moving to Wallasey, I saw the potential of taking pictures from the Mersey ferry and some spectacular sunrises and sunsets. This has resulted in a catalogue of images and this is what you are about to view. Hope you enjoy my efforts!
I have been out there with my bicycle and camera, keeping you up to date. It's been just as busy as 2008, so keep visiting for more archive material.

My first images start about 1970 to the present day. I also have images donated to me so they now appear. As with most journeys, a lot of unexpected things can happen on the way but I always have a camera with me. I travel on a bicycle, it is easy to stop and capture the moment.
Hence the title
'MERSEYSIDE MOMENTS'.
It is a wonderful area for changing light and photography. So, let's start the journey and who knows where we will end up.
Mike the Bike
I love the river and everything associated with it. I worked mainly in Liverpool and saw the shipping every day.
Times were changing as the industry moved to containerisation. Huge docks were filled in and there I was with the camera. I saw the shift to leisure use. This continues to the present day.
So the journey although structured will have many surprises, it's just a lifetime of my favourite things.
All recorded with my camera and devices that take photographs.
If it wasn't for photography the scene would pass and never be recorded!
